20,000 March to Protest Surging Fuel Prices

Police watched from open-backed trucks as more than 20,000 Nigerians marched peacefully in Lagos to protest steep increases in fuel prices in Africa’s largest oil-producing nation.
The rally, the first in what unions said would be two weeks of protests throughout the country, ended with demonstrators presenting their grievances in a petition to the Lagos governor.
