DreamWorks Animation will produce a sequel to “Madagascar,” which has grossed more than $500 million worldwide, making the computer-animated work the company’s most successful original movie. (The “Shrek” films earned more but were based on a book character.) DreamWorks said Ben Stiller, Chris Rock and Jada Pinkett Smith will reprise their respective roles as Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra and Gloria the Hippo, who at the close of the first film were headed back to New York’s Central Park Zoo in a ship the movie’s scene-stealing penguins noted was out of fuel.
