Smaller airports, shorter lines?

THANKS for the helpful article on wait times at airport security checkpoints [“Can’t Face Another Endless Line at the Airport? Fly Off-Peak,” Travel Insider, Aug. 28].

I was impressed by the simple elegance of the wait-time calculations method.

Meanwhile, and acknowledging that this may be counterproductive for those of us who already know and appreciate the difference, I’m sure that some of those waiting people would be better off if they were to take advantage of the much easier accommodations at Burbank and Long Beach.
