Religious Work Pulled From Museum Exhibit

The Tate Britain museum has taken off exhibit a work made up of sacred Christian, Jewish and Islamic texts torn and mounted on glass, saying it wanted to avoid offending religious sensibilities following the July transit bombings in London.

Museum officials said in a statement they were concerned that John Latham’s 10-year-old “God Is Great” could upset Muslims “in the current sensitive climate.”

Latham, 84, objected to the decision and said the Tate had shown “cowardice.”
