Man Who Was Slain by Police Is Identified

A man shot and killed by a Riverside police officer on Monday was identified as Lee Deante Brown, 30, of Riverside, the county’s coroner said.
Brown was shot twice by Officer Terry Ellefson outside the Welcome Inn of America on University Avenue after Brown gained control of the officer’s stun gun, according to a statement released by the department Tuesday.
Brown was seen “screaming, exposing himself and jumping on cars,” outside the motel, according to a police statement.
