L.A. Businessman Escapes From Captors
A Los Angeles executive abducted in Tijuana escaped after his kidnappers dozed off, Mexican officials said.
Yong Hak Kim, 53, a top administrator of Amex Manufacturing in Tijuana, was seized as he drove to his business early Thursday. About 24 hours later, he fled the small house where he was being held, grabbing a gun and running into the street, police said.
He told police he injured himself trying to jump aboard a passing gasoline truck. A police spokesman said the kidnappers ran away before authorities got to the house.
