Nissan Motor Co., which is transferring its U.S. sales unit to Tennessee from California, is willing to accept the loss of hundreds of employees for the benefits of relocating, Chief Executive Carlos Ghosn said.

“Moving to Tennessee is in the best interest, mid- and long-term, of the company,” Ghosn said at the New York auto show. “That’s why we accept disruption in the short term.”

Nissan in November announced plans to move from Gardena to the Nashville area.
