Fix punishment too

Re “Lure of the five-finger discount,” Opinion, July 30

With Wal-Mart no longer prosecuting shoplifters for stealing items worth less than $25, one wonders when California will cut prison costs by ending 25-years-to-life sentencing under “three strikes” for the same crime.
