Weather delays opening of new freeway lanes

This week’s high winds and cold night temperatures prevented the contractor on the Garden Grove Freeway construction project from placing highway signs, resulting in a delay of the opening of new lanes.
Granite Construction, the primary contractor, told the Orange County Transportation Authority late Thursday that it would not open the lanes today as had been announced.
The opening is tentatively set for Monday, an authority spokesman said.
