Mudslides from typhoon kill 208
From Times Wire Reports
The death toll from mudslides that swept Philippine hamlets on the slopes of the Mayon volcano rose to at least 208 with 261 others missing, two days after Typhoon Durian hit, officials said.
At daybreak, rescuers resumed digging through mud and debris looking for signs of life, but Fernando Gonzalez, governor of Albay province, said the operations had shifted to the retrieval of bodies. At least 82 people were injured but survived.
