Lawyer says he led Al Qaeda acts
From Times Wire Reports
Turkish police have detained a 25-year-old lawyer who admitted he was the leader of Al Qaeda in Turkey, news reports said. Nine other suspects were also held.
The lawyer and two of the suspects, reports said, were also members of the Great Islamic Eastern Warriors Front, a group that claimed responsibility with Al Qaeda for two bombings at Istanbul synagogues and attacks on the British Consulate and a bank in November 2003, killing more than 60 people.
