Man Guilty of Receiving Funds From Al Qaeda

An Australian man accused of aiding Osama bin Laden’s Al Qaeda network was found guilty of receiving funds from a terrorist group.
Joseph Terrence Thomas, 32, was convicted of one count of intentionally receiving funds from Al Qaeda and faces 25 years in prison.
Prosecutors alleged Thomas, a Muslim convert and former cab driver, spent time at a training camp in Afghanistan in mid-2001.
Later, in Pakistan, he was approached by an Al Qaeda agent who gave him $3,500 and a plane ticket home, prosecutors said.
