From Times Wire Reports

Tens of thousands of demonstrators, joined by politicians of all stripes, marched through Paris to protest racism and anti-Semitism after the torture and killing of a Jewish man.

Police said about 33,000 people marched; organizers claimed 80,000 to 200,000 participants.

The march was called in response to the death of Ilan Halimi, who was kidnapped Jan. 21, tortured for three weeks and dumped by a railroad track Feb. 13. He died of his injuries.
