At Least Nine Sailors Killed by Rebel Mine

Suspected Tamil Tiger rebels triggered a powerful antipersonnel mine against a government navy convoy in northern Sri Lanka, killing at least nine sailors and injuring seven, military spokesman Brig. Prasad Samarasinghe said.
The blast occurred in Chettikulam in Vavuniya district, 130 miles north of the capital, Colombo, he said.
