Musicland Files for Bankruptcy Protection

Musicland Holding Corp., which operates 800 retail and online stores including Sam Goody, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
The company is a unit of Boca Raton, Fla., buyout firm Sun Capital Partners Inc. Musicland also owns Suncoast Motion Picture Co. stores.
