A Legend Begins: The Black Dahlia

Share

The body of 22-year-old Elizabeth Short, an unemployed cashier and waitress, was found cut in half and mutilated in an empty lot in the 3800 block of South Norton Avenue off Crenshaw Boulevard. Her body was drained of blood and her face was carved from ear to ear. She was nicknamed the Black Dahlia for her sheer, black clothing and bouffant, black hair. The case was never solved.
