Feb. 2-14: Hunt for treasure in the dark at the S.F. Indie Fest, which festival director Jeff Ross calls the city’s “irreverent, politically incorrect festival.” The eighth annual parade of curiosities and obscure gems opens Feb. 2 with “The Proposition,” written by Nick Cave and starring Guy Pearce and Emily Watson. Topping the documentary category is “A.K.A. Tommy Chong,” about the comedian’s recent arrest. Ross promises a program including “bizarre Japanese features” and “parties every night.”

Film tickets are $10, $8 for matinees. The opening film and party are $25. For more information, call (415) 820-3907 or visit www.sfindie.com.
