Ford Motor Co. named a new North American sales chief for the third time since 2004, a day after Chief Executive William Clay Ford Jr. unveiled his plan to end losses in the region.

Group Vice President Steve Lyons, 57, who was in charge of North American sales, will retire March 1, the Dearborn, Mich.-based company said. He will be replaced by Cisco Codina, 54, now vice president in charge of the customer service division.
