Officer Shot by Son Now in Fair Condition
From Times Staff and Wire Reports
Enrique Chavez, the Los Angeles police officer shot last week by his 3-year-old son, has improved to fair condition and is expected to begin hospital rehabilitation soon, Los Angeles Police Lt. Paul Vernon said Thursday.
Chavez’s son, Colin, grabbed his father’s service revolver and accidentally shot him as the pair drove near their Anaheim home July 11.
An investigation to determine whether any laws were broken is underway, officials said.
