Lab meats would end the slaughter

In addition to the positive effect on the environment and our health [“Petri Dish Certified,” May 22], laboratory-produced meat products would reduce, if not eliminate, the horrific suffering of animals raised to become food on industrial “farms” and slaughtered under inhumane conditions. It may not take “several generations to change.” When human slavery was abolished, society adjusted in no time.
