Yemeni Man Deported as Security Threat
A Yemeni identified as having direct links with the Sept. 11 attackers has been deported to Saudi Arabia, an official said.
Rayed Mohammed Abdullah Ali, said to be taking pilot training, was deported May 30 as a security threat, Immigration Minister David Cunliffe said.
A U.S. congressional inquiry said Ali had lived and trained with Hani Hanjour, who crashed an airliner into the Pentagon.
Cunliffe said Ali was taking flight training in Palmerston North, on the North Island. He said there was no evidence of any specific threat in New Zealand.
