July 1-Aug. 6: The Seafair festival runs, parades, races, explodes and calls in the Navy to entertain. Highlights include a Torchlight Parade, the Navy Fleet Arrival Parade of Ships and hydroplane races on Lake Washington. The kickoff, called “Will It Float?” seems tailored to David Letterman fans. Teams build boats from milk cartons -- and then race them on Greenlake. During lunch, the Valentines Performing Pigs (which have appeared on “The Late Show”) jump, dance and dunk basketballs.
