Krispy Kreme Expects Loss for First Quarter

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Inc. said it expected to report a fiscal first-quarter loss on a 24% decline in sales as new Chief Executive Daryl Brewster began taking steps to return the doughnut maker to profitability.
Its first-quarter revenue declined to $116 million from $153 million a year earlier, Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Krispy Kreme said in a regulatory filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Shares of Krispy Kreme fell 46 cents to $8.39.
