48 in Wedding Group Die in Road Accident

Police in a remote northern Indian village retrieved 48 bodies after a truck crowded with wedding guests veered off a mountain road and plunged into a deep gorge, a police official said.
At least 12 injured people had been rescued and were in a hospital near Bharwari, a small mountain town in Uttaranchal state’s Almora district, area police constable Madan Lal said.
