Semtech Subpoenaed About Its Option Grants

Semtech Corp., which makes semiconductors for cellphones, received a grand jury subpoena for documents tied to its option grants. The Camarillo-based company also said two shareholder lawsuits were filed that allege improper awards.

In other developments tied to the options controversy:

* Monster Worldwide Inc., which runs the Monster.com online job site, said the SEC had told it to preserve documents.

* Michaels Stores Inc. said in a federal filing that the arts-and-crafts retailer probably wouldn’t have to restate earnings based on results of its internal investigation.

* Macrovision Corp., which makes software to prevent copying of digital music and videos, said an internal panel and the SEC had started probes.

* Nyfix Inc., which processes stock trades, said a second shareholder lawsuit had been filed in connection with backdated option grants.
