Why did Gita die?
Re “Zoo Investigating Gita’s Death; Activists Call for Federal Probe,” June 21
The director of the Los Angeles Zoo is conducting a full investigation into the death of Gita, the elephant. Sure sounds like the fox investigating why the eggs are missing from the henhouse.
Also, the zoo commissioner suggests creating a subcommittee to research and learn from preserves: “It behooves us to put some effort into this and try to educate ourselves.” Oh, come on, are they seriously trying to tell us that they don’t know these animals belong in the wild?
Bottom line is, the zoo makes money off of these magnificent animals, and investigations and subcommittees are all for show.
