Palm Springs home honored

Extolling its “butterfly rooflines” and “bold geometry,” judges at the Pacific Coast Builders Conference bestowed the home of the year honor on Alta, a 2,875-square-foot production home in Palm Springs, at the 43rd Gold Nugget awards in San Francisco last week.

The home, designed by Patel Architecture and built by Alta Construction, has an outdoor pavilion with a dining area that juts out over a pool.

The category was among 53 for architectural design and land-use planning for residential, commercial, specialty and rehab projects.
