GM, Toyota to Halt Joint Clean-Air-Vehicle Effort

From Bloomberg News

General Motors Corp. and Toyota Motor Corp. will stop working together to create pollution-free autos after failing to develop any products.

The two automakers said they would no longer share research on hydrogen fuel-cell technology while extending a 7-year-old partnership until March 31, 2008. The effort will now focus on improving vehicle safety and reducing traffic congestion.
