Google Lets Publishers Sell Digital Books

Google Inc. is letting publishers sell digital copies of books that are included in its Book Search website.
Publishers in Google Books Partner Program in the U.S. and Britain will be able to set prices for access to their books, according to a posting on the Mountain View, Calif.-based company’s website.
Users won’t be able to save the book or copy pages to their computer, Google said.
The online book sales are limited to publishers that submitted their titles to Google and don’t include library books that are being scanned by the company.
