A rockslide sent boulders and trees crashing onto one of the main entry roads to Yosemite National Park, shutting down the busy route.

California 140, which leads from Merced to Yosemite, was closed in both directions about 12 miles outside the park.

No one was hurt.

Park officials said there was no estimate as to when the road might reopen.

Tourists were advised to use California 41 to the south or California 120 to the north to get to or from the park.
