Open Direct Talks With Iran, Annan Urges U.S.

U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan urged the United States to open direct talks with Iran over Tehran’s nuclear ambitions.
He said the Iranians might have been holding back in negotiations with Britain, France and Germany and might be more forthcoming if the U.S. were at the table. Annan was interviewed on PBS’ “NewsHour with Jim Lehrer.”
