Colombian cocaine
U.S. Sen. Charles E. Grassley (R-Iowa) is right to wonder if the billions of tax dollars spent on Plan Colombia have actually reduced the importation of cocaine into the U.S. What we do know is that the aerial spraying has poisoned food crops, soil and people and has been a contributing factor in the displacement of as many as 3 million rural Colombians from their homes.
