Two brothers already serving life sentences for killing a bystander during an armored car holdup in Van Nuys were ordered Monday to stand trial for two additional killings, including one during another armored car robbery.

Pasadena Superior Court Judge Michelle Rosenblatt found sufficient evidence to try Ramon Cervantes Chavez, 44, and Ignacio Cervantes Chavez, 52, in the May 15, 2000, shooting of Olivia De La Torre as she and her husband arrived for work at their Pasadena restaurant, La Guadalupana.

They also are charged with the execution-style shooting of armored car messenger Eleazar Jaramillo during a 1999 robbery in Vernon.

The Chavez brothers are serving life sentences without the possibility of parole for the 2000 killing of Owen Alexander Wolf, a production assistant on the CBS drama “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” during a shootout with an armored car guard outside a Costco store in Van Nuys.

After an investigation that took more than 4 1/2 years, police pieced together the details of the killing of De La Torre, a mother of six who was shot in the head during an attempted robbery.

Detectives traveled to Mexico to track down leads in the slaying of Jaramillo. The brothers were linked to the killing through witnesses and DNA evidence.
