Reform Bill to Extend Healthcare Coverage
From Times Wire Reports
As many as 25,000 state residents who have no health insurance will be able to get it under a reform package agreed to in Montpelier by Gov. Jim Douglas and legislative leaders.
The bill would extend healthcare coverage to as much as 96% of the state’s population by 2010.
The bill calls for the creation of a new insurance plan that would be sold by private companies but subsidized by the state for those who cannot afford it.
