Federated to Sell Nine More Department Stores

Federated Department Stores Inc. will sell nine department stores in six states to General Growth Properties Inc. as it continues to rid itself of duplicate stores gained in last year’s acquisition of May Department Stores Co.
The stores are in malls owned by Chicago-based General Growth Properties. A Macy’s in Montclair and a Robinsons-May in Bakersfield are among the stores to be sold. Cincinnati-based Federated did not disclose terms of the sale.
