Hamas appears closer to a deal

GAZA CITY — Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh said Friday that he would be willing to sacrifice his job if sanctions on his Hamas-led government were lifted.
It was the latest indication the Islamic militant group Hamas was nearing a deal on a unity government with President Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah party.
“When the issue of the siege is on one side, and my being prime minister is on the other, let the siege be lifted to end the suffering of the Palestinian people,” Haniyeh said.
