Embracing youths with special needs
Re “Special friendship,” Nov. 8
As I read this article, I found myself getting goose-bumps. It’s great to know that teenagers with special needs are getting support from their classmates. I have been put in a situation just like other students in which they feel afraid to approach a person with disabilities.
But now that Mira Costa High School in Manhattan Beach has opened a club where everyone can go on trips and engage in after-school programs, students can learn that we are all the same on the inside.
