Hat’s off

THANK you for the first intelligent and sensitive article that I have seen on Keith Urban since he entered rehab and probably the most accurate article I have ever seen on him [“October Surprise,” Oct. 29]. Your article captures his essence and shows great sensitivity to the poignancy of his situation and the timing of it.

As a devoted fan of this extremely talented singer, songwriter and world-class guitar player, I was disappointed when the Mohegan Sun concert was canceled -- it would have been the ninth Keith Urban concert for my husband and me since we first saw him in concert in October 2004. However, I can assure you that no one was more disappointed than Keith.

It took great courage for him to go into rehab at this time, which meant great sacrifice for Keith and his wife, Nicole Kidman, but I am sure the investment will provide a positive return for them. He’ll be back and strong and we will celebrate.
