Superb with spin or the sax

DJ Blade’s got it made in the shade. The young spinner performs at Bar Sinister at Boardner’s in Hollywood and the D Club in Azusa. His ‘80s night Thursdays at the D Club packs the large venue with kids aching to hear Goth, industrial and pop. And Blade’s also in the USC marching band, where he blows the sax on a full music scholarship. That should inspire some kids to pick up an instrument.... Catfight of the century? Paris Hilton and Shannon Moakler duked it out Tuesday night at Hyde, onlookers reported. They claim it got ugly between the two beauties.... Yes, Social Hollywood is so hot it even has its own full-time Socialite (her real title). Her name is Cali Norton and she looks like a Viking goddess. Her job is to be the concierge for the Level II party area and the go-to gal for any special needs (i.e., hotels, private jets, car service, etc). Among the club’s recent guests are Keira Knightley, Sharon Stone, Allison Janney and Justin Timberlake.... Night-owl alert: Boulevard 3 (also at the former Hollywood Athletic Club) is gearing up to open Oct. 12.

Teddy’s ready

Teddy’s at the Roosevelt Hotel reopened its doors last week, ending a six-month hiatus. By midnight last Wednesday the place was jumping again like old times, as celebrities and partygoers from the nearby Stuff Style Awards stopped by. Although the likes of Keanu Reeves and Giovanni Ribisi were in the house Saturday night, Jason Pomeranc, president of the Thompson Hotel Group, says this won’t be the oh-so-exclusive Teddy’s of old. In fact, the venue will now be serving food, including entrees from 9 to 11 p.m., as part of its new, more welcoming atmosphere.... The Hideout in Santa Monica just celebrated its one-year anniversary. Among the stars who’ve bellied up to the bar there in recent days are Tom Hanks, Jimmy Kimmel and Jessica Biel, who turned out on a Taco Thursday -- the night the bar serves free tacos after 6 p.m.

Life on the boulevard

A few months after Jimmy La Bree acquired El Centro from Shereen Arazm, the first-time club owner has gotten a nice neighborhood vibe going with the Santa Monica Boulevard bar he has christened Jimmy’s Lounge.... Big hoo-ha at the Stone Rose on Tuesday night, as SBE/Bolthouse promoters teamed up with Rolling Stone magazine for some rock ‘n’ roll fun. Stone Rose is Rande Gerber’s new bar at the Hotel Sofitel across from the Beverly Center.... And speaking of SBE, I never thought I’d see the day when I’d miss the Coconut Teaszer. But every time I drive by Privilege (the new club at the old Teez), I get darn near weepy. Not because I love the color purple -- the Teaszer’s old hue -- but because new owners SBE have the logo of every club they own draped over Privilege like some kind of shabby-chic sofa cover. Yeah, we get it: Brand it, brand it, brand it.
