Musharraf Says Suspects Held in Park Explosion
Pakistani President Gen. Pervez Musharraf announced that authorities had captured suspects in a possible attempt on his life. It was the first confirmation that any suspects were in custody after last week’s explosion in a park near Musharraf’s residence in Rawalpindi. No one was injured.
Asked whether the explosion, along with rockets found near the National Assembly, was meant for him, Musharraf said: “I cannot say for sure whether I was being targeted. Maybe I was.” He did not say how many people were detained.
