U.S. Opens Memory Market Antitrust Probe

The Justice Department’s antitrust division has opened an investigation into the static random access memory market, communications chip maker Cypress Semiconductor Corp. said.
SRAM is found in relatively small quantities in PCs. It’s also used in disk drives, communications equipment and networking gear.
Cypress said it would fully support the investigation.
