Airline Pilots’ Union Elects New President
From the Associated Press
The largest pilots’ union elected a new president who promised a return to aggressive bargaining tactics.
John Prater, a Continental Airlines 767 captain, narrowly defeated Duane Woerth, a Northwest Airlines 747 captain who was seeking a third four-year term as president of the Air Line Pilots Assn.
Prater said the vote showed that the union “desires to return to its roots of aggressive bargaining.”
