Palestinian Captured in British Embassy
Police commandos stormed the British Embassy in Tel Aviv and captured a Palestinian man who had been holed up inside for eight hours claiming to have a gun and demanding political asylum. No one was injured.
Police said the forces seized the man after he laid down his weapon. After the arrest, authorities discovered that the weapon was plastic, police said.
Nadim Injaz, 28, a resident of Ramallah and a suspected informer for the Israeli security services, jumped a fence to enter the embassy. In a televised interview, he said he would rather die than return to the West Bank.
