Shiites Protest Their Treatment by Officials

Saudi Shiite Muslims held a rare public protest in the southern region of Najran over what they said was repression by hard-line Sunni authorities.
“This is to protest over calling us infidels, seizing our lands and holding people prisoner for years without verdicts,” said one participant who identified himself as Said, speaking by telephone.
