Voters OK Tougher Rules on Asylum

Swiss voters overwhelmingly approved referendums that will make it harder for asylum seekers to gain entry to the wealthy nation.
Despite warnings of damage to the country’s humanitarian reputation, 68% of voters said “yes” to referendums to limit non-European job seekers and to make Swiss asylum rules among the West’s toughest. Both measures have already been passed by parliament and the government.
