Pilot’s curses foil flight to Michigan
A Northwest Airlines flight from Las Vegas to Detroit was canceled after a pilot conducted a heated, obscenity-laden cellphone conversation as passengers boarded, authorities said.
Las Vegas police responded at McCarran International Airport, Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Ian Gregor said.
The pilot was in the cockpit at first, then went to the lavatory, locked the door and continued yelling into the phone as passengers boarded, Gregor said. When confronted by a passenger, he also cursed at the passenger, Gregor said.
There were 180 passengers and five crew members on the flight.
The passengers were rebooked, and the pilot returned to his home base in Detroit for an investigation.
