Bit of blarney
Re “Illegal? Lucky you’re Irish,” Current, April 8
I thought Gregory Rodriguez was very clever -- and quite disingenuous -- to cite a small number of undocumented Irish nationals in New York City to support his position that white racism is the driving force behind anyone opposed to massive illegal immigration. If, over the last 20 years, about 20 million white Europeans entered this country illegally, Rodriguez probably would be arguing that was because of white racism too.
How else could he explain why the U.S. government would knowingly allow all these people to make a mockery of our immigration laws?
