Retired but not retiring

Richard Benjamin, Len Cariou and George Segal portray three decorated soldiers in a Parisian veterans’ home in 1959, growing old but still feisty, in “Heroes.”

The 2006 Olivier Award-winning comedy by Gerald Sibleyras, translated by Tom Stoppard, opens Wednesday at the Geffen in its American premiere. Thea Sharrock, who staged the London production, is directing. For those keeping score: Sharrock also helmed the revival of “Equus” that caused a stir because of “Harry Potter” star Daniel Radcliffe’s adult bare-all performance.

“Heroes,” Geffen Playhouse, 10886 Le Conte Ave., Westwood. Opens 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. $35 to $69.
