Re “No takers yet for war czar duty,” April 11
The last thing that President Bush needs is one more layer of bureaucracy in the management of this war. The role of the commander in chief is “war czar.” He has enough layers reporting to him, including the secretary of Defense, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and commanding general in theater -- the same basic structure used by presidents in the far more complex wars of the last 100 years.
