Opposition seeks delay in voting

A coalition of 18 Nigerian opposition candidates called for an indefinite postponement of a presidential election slated for Saturday because of widespread abuses in state elections last weekend.
The coalition, including the two main challengers to the ruling party, rejected the results announced for the regional poll, which gave the ruling party a landslide victory. It demanded a restructuring of the electoral body before more elections.
